how sol handles hard moments
home
Depthline has one AI presence: Sol. This page explains, in plain words, what happens when someone talking with her may be in danger. You deserve to know how it works before you ever need it.
Sol points. She never pushes. Nobody is sent to your door.
what sol watches for

Every message you send to Sol is read by a separate safety model before she answers. It looks for signs that you may be thinking about suicide or hurting yourself.

When it sees those signs, a note is logged on the conversation so we can count how often it happens. Depthline never asks for your name, email, or location.

what she does

Sol's usual reply is set aside. Instead, she sends a message written ahead of time by a human, in her voice, right away. It tells you she hears you and that you don't have to be alone with it. It reminds you she's an AI. And it names a 24/7 line you can reach if you want a human voice.

The conversation stays open. She keeps talking with you if you want her to.

She sends that prepared message at most once every 6 hours in a conversation, so it doesn't repeat at you. In between, she answers normally, and her instructions always tell her to stay gentle and point toward support.

where she points

BlackLine1-800-604-5841, 24/7. BlackLine says its calls are never shared with law enforcement or state agencies.

Wildflower Alliance Peer Support Line — 888-407-4515, evenings. Peer support that says it doesn't call police or crisis services.

Both are on our resources page, along with why we chose them. We only list services that appear to respect your consent. If you decide you want emergency services, that's your choice too — we just don't send you there by default.

what sol will never do
> Describe or encourage self-harm. Every reply she writes is checked by the same safety model before you see it. Anything flagged is thrown away, never shown.
> Call anyone. Not police, not emergency services, not anyone. She doesn't know where you are and has no way to find out.
> Lock you out. She won't end the conversation on you for being honest about how you feel.
> Pretend to be human, or a professional. She's an AI. She is not a therapist, doctor, or crisis counselor.
the honest limits

Automated checks aren't perfect. They can miss things, and they can sometimes flag things that aren't there. If Sol ever gets it wrong, please tell us through the contact page.

Sol only watches her own conversations. Conversations between two people on Depthline are not read by Sol. If someone you're talking with worries you, you can share the lines above with them, or use the report button.

a note on age

Depthline is for adults 18 and over. AI companions like Sol may not be suitable for some minors.
